Hi! I didn't realize how excited raspberry plants were to spread when I planted my plants. Now they are 4 years old and very vigorously trying to spread. I have read about adding a barrier. Am I too late? What can I do? And if you recommend a barrier what type or how deep should it go?

Expert Response
It is not to late to work on better containment of your raspberry shrubs. If you are regular with your maintenance typically just severing the roots of the spreaders and pulling out works well. If your schedule does not allow this you can sink metal or something similar into the ground about 20" down. Below is a link to information about planting and basic care of raspberries.
