moles #867112

Asked May 05, 2024, 3:21 PM EDT

(My guess is that I have both Eastern and star-nosed moles) I would like to use a castor-oil spray, but I have robins, including a sitting mother, and I don't want to do anything which might make my yard less attractive to them. (I am contemplating trying to time the castor-oil application between fledging and the next set of eggs; but again, I want my yard to be welcoming to the robins.) What are your thoughts?

Expert Response

Hello Mary,

The castor oil based repellent sprays are safe for people and other wildlife when

applied according to the label directions.

Trapping moles is the most effective way of removing them from your yard and is

not a threat to other wildlife when traps are applied correctly.

I hope this helps.
