invasive liriope #867110

Asked May 05, 2024, 2:51 PM EDT

We have lived in our home for 35 years, and within the last 2-3 years, we have found invasive liriope at the edge of our flower beds and scattered throughout the lawn. How can we safely eliminate it without using harmful pesticides? Thank you.

Expert Response

Your best bet would be to dig up as much of the plant as you can and/or cut it back. Then watch for any regrowth and dig or cut again.  It may take a year or two to starve the roots of energy, but you should be able to control it eventually without any chemicals.

I hope this is helpful....otherwise, please contact us again. Robin
