Thank you for the information, but to our knowledge, American Carrion Beetle is secure in its populations and not endangered, at least not locally. You can view images for comparison as well as a range map on the linked page (this organization puts a note in red letters next to the species name if it is rare, threatened, or endangered). This beetle been found state-wide in Maryland.
