What’s eating my plants #866955

The north side of my home foundation bed has something eating the plants. No matter what I plant, after a few weeks in the summer the plants have been nearly decimated by some sort of bug that I can’t see. This is except for the hostas. They loved the miniature rose bushes, the dwarf norweigian pine, and the hydrangeas. This has been going on for the 12 years I have lived here. The other sides of my home are relatively unbothered by pests. I think I need my soil tested. How should I proceed?

Expert Response
Since you live in Franklin County you can go to the OSU extension office, 2548 Carmack Rd, Columbus, OH 43210 and buy a soil test kit. They cost about $13.00 and the report is excellent. The report, which you should get back in about two weeks, will tell you about your soil and what you need to do to improve it for whatever plants you want to place in that area.
