nectarine tree issue #866895

Asked May 03, 2024, 12:44 PM EDT

Client has a nectarine tree with leaf damage (leaf curl). Last year it occurred, and he plucked off bad leaves and said he used a soap like solution that's recommended for tomatoes (not a herbicide - safe for eating fruit; not sure what it was though). This year leaf damage is much worse. I found this question and wonder if it applies to this client, i.e. if he has leaf curl and the same recommendations apply? https://ask2.extension.org/kb/faq.php?id=864890 Thanks, Jenifer (OSU Extension, Wash County) on behalf of John Schneider (client)

Expert Response

Jenifer - Yes, I agree with the diagnosis this is leaf curl. The link goes to our handbook web site and the home production guide. It is a difficult disease to manage but if timed right they can keep tree alive with fungicides.
