We have a rural neighbohood of over 650 homes and have a very active Emergency Preparedness team. We are seeking sources of funds, grant monies etc to help us
get equiped for a wildfire or other disaster. Can you point us to any sources that embrace what we are doing to be locally resilient?

Expert Response
Hi Rose,
Apologies for my slow response. I was at a conference last week. The best place to check for funding is locally. Your local OSU Extension fire specialist or the Oregon State Fire Marshal Community Risk Reduction specialist will have a pulse on what is available. You can find your local person by going to either (or both) websites.
OSU fire team, https://extension.oregonstate.edu/program/all/fire-program/people
OSFM CRR specialist, https://www.oregon.gov/osfm/pages/fire-adapted-oregon.aspx
OSFM has had grants in the past, however I don't see that any are available right now. Contact OSFM to verify. https://www.oregon.gov/osp/programs/sfm/Pages/OSFM-Grants.aspx/1000
There are the Community Wildfire Defense Grants (CWDG), https://www.oregon.gov/odf/fire/Documents/cwdg-program-factsheet.pdf available through the Oregon Department of Forestry. Review the fact sheet link to determine if your community is eligible.
I hope this helps!
