I am forwarding these pictures from a friend's yard in Vermillion. These are boxwood bushes and starting last fall they begin to look this way. Ages of the bushes are from 4 years to 12 years old. Is there anything they can do to make them look better or do they need to be pulled out?

There are a variety of different things in which could have caused the browning to happen (examples: Michigan State Resource). You could try to cut it back, fertilize, water regularly and it might come back. Otherwise, you might be best off removing it and starting new.
