Hi Donna.
The simplest method is to use 1 tablespoon of regular (household) bleach in 1 gallon of water (it can be cold water) on your milking pail and other milking equipment. Sanitizing should be the last step in the post-milking cleaning process and then done again right before milking. Do not rinse after sanitizing. Make sure the bleach is not old, as the sodium hypochlorite loses its effectiveness.
I’ve attached a document describing the overall cleaning process for milking equipment.
Cheers,
…Jenifer Cruickshank
Thank you!
Donna
