Asked April 21, 2024, 1:02 AM EDT

Hello! We have a very aggressive weed in our lawn. The weed has a slight geranium look to it although it is flat and spread out. Could I text you a photo of this weed? Thank You!

You have a patch of creeping buttercup, Ranunculus repens. I’ll share some links so you can research control options. Hand removal is challenging but possible in a small area. Chemical herbicide options are often used. Another control measure as listed in this from Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District, is to have dense foliage to crowd out the weed. Here is EC 1521 about lawn care, as that may go hand-in-hand with your weed situation.
I don’t want to overwhelm you with information, but these two documents have more information and include even more resource links: TSWCD overview page for the creeping buttercup, and the King County, WA information page.
Thanks so much, really appreciate the information!
