It is best to prune blueberries between January and early March. I found some reliable information on blueberries for the home gardener that you may find helpful and listed them below.

We got a lot of blueberries!!! But there are so many that some branches are bent over and a couple branches even broke. Is it because I didn’t trim enough small branches back?

Congratulations on the great blueberry production. It is possible that small weak canes were not removed resulting in them bending over and breaking. It is recommended to remove canes that are seven years old or older. Any canes that are low and bending to the ground should be removed. Every few years prune hard to rejuvenate the bushes.
I hope you continue to have a great blueberry crop for years to come.
