Deer Stone saved my Grandfathers life.

Why is this so hard to believe? My Grandfather was bitten by a rattle snake when my Mother was a young women. He went out to the wood pile to get wood for their cook stove. While there he was bitten by a rattle snake on the arm. My Grandmother had a "Deer Stone" her Mother had given her. Her Mother was married to "Old Bill Williams", a famous Mountain Man. My Grandmother applied the stone to the bitten area, then bound it with a cloth. The next morning, my Grandmother removed the bandage and stone. Then placing the stone in a basin of water, my Mother said the stone released a "Green Foam". My Grandfater was quite ill of course, but he servived. My Great grandmother was of the Ute tribe. I wish I had that same stone.

Tulips

Can you leave tulips in a pot after the foliage has dried up, or do you need to put them in the ground? I will be gone from Arizona all summer, so I can't do any watering of them.

Sad Peach Tree with Fruit on It

Our peach tree should be ready to be picked. However, the peaches are small and hard, even though some are red. Some of the branches are laying on the ground. This is the third year it has produced fruit; it is three years old. We have never pruned it-a gardner on a local TV channel here in AZ said to never prune a fruit tree here as they need the shade to protect them from the sun. Not sure about that now. Seems there are too many branches, as it seems to0 heavy with the fruit on it, thus the laying on the ground. The leaves are nice and green. Just concerned as to why the fruit didn't get very big. The first year we picked every other one, the second and third year we didn't and had nice peaches. Now this third year, small hard peaches. Any reason why this may have happened? We don't see that there is too much fruit causing the branches to lay on the ground.

Ficus roots

The property I care for has a Ficus tree whose roots are heaving a sidewalk. The base of the tree is about 8' from the sidewalk. If I remove the sidewalk and cut out the infringing roots, will I damage the tree? Are there other options?

Thanks,

Mike
