Periodic multiple spider bites

Starting in September, about once a month, or every couple months my son woke up with a spider bite or two on his arm & hand. In February he woke up with numerous bites on his hand and arm.. about 5. After that, we sprayed his room, in the air ducts too. We changed his mattress changed where his bed is in his room, etc. This morning, again, he woke up with 5 bites on his neck and two on his arm. I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do next

Amaryllis Plant

The Amaryllis plant we received for Christmas has beautiful, large leaves, about 3 feet tall, yet there's not even an inkling of a flower stem coming up. Is this normal? Will a stem and flower eventually appear or is this bulb a dud?

Bloomerang transplant

Good morning. I have a four year old bloomerang that I would like to dig up and transplant so it can get more sunlight. When is the best time to do this? Also, can I prune back the bush quiet a bit to help in the transfer so it's not so large. It's about 5 feet tall and 7 8 feet wide.

What is purpose of propagating mycelium in a potato dextrose agar medium?

Why start mycelium (for Shiitake mushrooms) in a potato dextrose agar medium, then introducing it into a secondary substrate (e.g. Wheat), when mycelium can be propagated in sterilized grains such as wheat to begin with? This extra step simply appears to be unnecessary to me and the belief it would increase the chances of contamination. Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIZQ39wYkI0
