my grandmother had a tree growing in her yard for at least 50 years. she called it an olive tree. it looked almost dwarf in size and the limbs were gnarled and the wood dark. it had a fruit (olive) that started out green and then turned a burgundy color with a meat similar to an apple on the inside. they were delicious and I have only known of one other and that was her backdoor neighbor. do you have any idea what this tree was and is it indeed an olive tree>
