Odd fern?

Have photos of an odd plant with fern like growth, but the stems are red and the leaves are rectangular with rounded edges. Lake Buchanan area, this past weekend, shoreline. Possibly Llano or Burnet counties.

Is ajuga, pidgeonberry or frogfruit poisonous to dogs?

I am looking for ground cover safe for little dogs to run through. Specifically interested in knowing about frogfruit or ajuga. Can you tell me if these are safe?

Also interested in planting pidgeonberry.

Thank you.

What squash is this?

I received a squash from a Master Gardener who called it simply 'vine squash'. When I research 'vine squash' it mostly tells the differences between vine and bush squash and goes on forever about the squash borer. I have no idea what type of squash this is, when to harvest it (green or yellow? maximum size?). Can anyone help us?

Monterrey/water oak

Hi there. I planted a new species of oak this year, and we are having troubles with them. Not sure why. I have been a landscaper for 20 years, but I would like to n ke what you think is wrong with them as we don't want to loose them.
