Peach tree 9-6-2013

I have a young peach tree planted this past spring....had a rough go of it....loosing all leaves...I plucked all but 2 peaches off of it when I first planted it. I ended up drip watering it all night every other night and it improved. It now has a few green leaves on it but is mostly bare. Should I cut it back at this time? What should it be looking like at this time of the season? Some of the branches are very dark...almost black...questioning whether parts are dead....the main trunk when scratched is definitely alive. It stands about 5.5 foot tall. Thanks for your help.

Lichens on trees

I have a small stand of olives trees. I have lichens growing on about 30% of the trees. I see the same lichens growing on the oak trees on my ranch. I believe the lichen is Evernia Prunastri. The trees where this is active, appear to be dying or have died.

What can I do to kill this off without damaging the trees?

new orchard

I am wanting to start a small orchard, possibly 5 acres. I am wanting to plant citrus (oranges, lemons, grapefruit etc) and stone fruit (peaches, plums, nectarines etc). my question is does it matter if you mix these trees in the same row or even in the same area of the orchard? I am planning to do this in Jackson County. Any help in this would be helpful.
