Source for avocado cuttings

We have Lula and Day avocado trees and would like to find a source of cuttings of other avocado varieties that do well in the RGV to graft onto our trees.

Summer Growing

  • Howdy, my name's Cristian Mendoza, and I just wanted to ask what kind of fruits and vegetables I could plant in July down here in deep south Texas. I'm the president of my high school FFA chapter, and I'd love to be able to start off my senior year with some fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables that I could give out to my chapter members and FFA Advisor, Mrs. Jacquelyn Stevens, as well as have a ready supply for home. My only problem, though, is that I really don't know if there is anything I can plant in July, especially down here in the harsh heat of deep south Texas.

nighthawk breeding ground

I work at a storage facility and our parking spaces that we rent are on gravel and is full of nighthawks that are very active in breeding. My question is is this bird very common? Because there is construction starting to expand our facility and I will be very disappointed that this bird will be vanished from our location.

Change in rose bush

Hi. I have had a Tropicana rose bush for almost 12 years. Recently, I noticed a difference in the shoots, which seemed thinner and longer. My Dad was having health issues and eventually passed away 2 weeks ago. For this reason, I had left all gardening, amongst other things, on hold. Today, as I was driving past the rose bush, I noticed a different color rose. I got closer and noticed the new shoots have buds in clusters and in a deep dark red color. The rose bush is part Tea rose and part floribunda. Is there a way to get the rose bush back to only Tropicana? Will the bush be harmed if I leave it as it is? I took some pictures, but was windy and didn't come out as good but you can see the 2 different roses.

Do you know what kind of plant this is? Yellow flowers, shrubby.

I think this plant is native, as I grew it from a seed off a plant I found by the side of the road.
