Japanese maple wilt

My J. Maple tree leaves have wilted in the last few days. Has all the rain and humidity caused it? It was doing wonderful and I was so proud of it. Now all the leaves are curled and they're stems are drooping so what should I do? It is on the south east side of the house and I don't know if it is lack of water or not. It was planted 3 yrs ago and doing great. Help. We have had a lot of rain here

Unknown root in vegetable garden

Dug this up in my garden but I have no idea what it is. It smells like a lettuce but I am stumped. It is a raised garden so the only things in there would be stuff I planted. (or my kids) lol. Thanks.

Shumard Oak pest

Madam or Sir,
My mature Shumard Oak has developed abnormal growths in the leaves over the past several years and I am at a loss to find out what is causing this. These growths occur at the beginning of the growing season and seem to continue until the weather grows hot and dry. In an attempt to discover what is causing this I have removed some of the "growths" and contained them in a plastic enclosure. The next morning upon examining this container, I discovered small white larva in the box. I live in the northeast part of Oklahoma and have not seen this in any other tree in the area including the other Shumard oaks on my property. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thank you.
