Leaf damage and spider

My magnolia was planted last year and is still yet to bloom. Ive noticed this spring how bare it looks. The new growth even has spots of damage when unwrapped. I inspected it today and noticed a spider with a hard back side and then what appears to be the spiders sack of eggs. I've limited the watering frequency and added tree/shrub soil, but I'm scared I'll loose the tree soon if I don't figure out the cause. Thanks for your help!

Lacebark elm peeling bark

I have 2 lacebark elms and both are peeling the bark back. I don't remember them ever doing that before.

bee tube dimensions

hello,
this is Ben from University of Oklahoma, my group and I are working on a putting some beehives atop the Green Roof, but we have a problem with selecting an appropriate nesting tube for beehive. Could you please help out us in selecting a tube?
why are hives different in dimensions? (8, 9, 10 mm) and how we can figure out what is the best nesting tube for our beehives?
Note: we are not just looking for honey bees and producing honey.

thanks for helping us.

Ben.

garden spider

I had a beautiful garden spider this summer and she left me with 3 eggs sacs but they are located in the frame of a shed door, I kept it propped open all summer but have to close it up for the winter. Can I put the egg sacs in a shoe box or something until spring?

Pointy Plant

Do you know what this plant is? I'm worried it might add to my allergies.
(Sorry if this message got duplicated -- not sure if the first one got through.)
