I hope you are the right person to ask this question to, if not, can you direct me to that person? I have creeping charlie in my grass that I want to get rid of, but I also want to spread more grass seed. So my question is whether I should plant new grass seed in September and then get the lawn sprayed with dicamba to kill the creeping charlie later in fall. Can you help? Thanks Matt

Cleveland Select Pear? Hello, do you know of any trials that examine the durability of the cleveland select pear? I am arguing against using it as a street tree, but I am looking for the data/literature to back up my argument. I am under the impression, as a lay person, that this is a short-lived, weak limbed tree and that we can find longer-lived trees similar in size and effect for city street planting. Thank you.

I am aerating my front lawn and then overseeding---lawn mostly weed free but various thin and brown spots---will treat to remove any weeds first and then I want to have a fine blade grass---what do you recommend for a packaged seed or seed mixture---I am told tall fescue is best but want to be sure grass blade is thin. Front yard has no play or stress on it

My questions are about the diet of deer and other wildlife in my neighborhood of Cincinnati, which is Oakley. Two weeks ago, I planted 2 dwarf black mulberry trees in different parts of my yard, the 2nd tree planted a day after the first. The morning after planing the first one, all of its leaves had vanished, the stem of each neatly severed near its attachment point to the twig/stem. Within 12" of the tree, I found 3 deer tracks. I immediately covered the tree with a stiff netting. Ditto for the second tree in another part of the yard. Do deer eat mulberry leaves? If yes, is the eating of mulberry leaves by deer a common occurrence? By other wildlife? On Sept 8, I planted three spicebush (lindera benzoin) in another part of my yard. I have noticed no evidence of eating of the leaves or the twigs so far. Do deer or other animals favor spicebush leaves, twigs or bark? Next week, I will plant a semi-dwarf sweet cherry tree. Do deer or other wildlife like the twig/bark of cherry trees? I am OK with installing a barrier around the cherry and/or the spicebush. Just do not want to do so **IF** the risk of the plants being eaten is low.

We have a 50-60 year old beech tree in our yard and have noticed about 2 dozen bore holes in the trunk east facing with the highest being 3' on the trunk. The holes are about 3mm in diameter. There has been no insect or sawdust noted. we have noticed some dieback on the outer branches. We would like to treat the tree asap. What do you recommend?
