There is a substance in our lawn that is leaving a rusty orange residue on our shoes and if you are barefoot your feet will turn orange. Is this harmfull to humans or pets? I have grandchildren who love to play in the yard but this is very concerning. Can you please help me with this and is anyone else having this problem?

something is eating my zinnia seedlings when they first emerge. If they make it to the second leafing they are left alone. I have tried massive amounts of cayenne pepper. There is less damage but only slows them down.

I couldn't find a "contact us" that wasn't for question answering, so I apologize for not asking a question. I just received the 13-14 month Just in Time Parenting Newsletter. I have found this is a great resource for myself and the families I work with in Early Intervention. I was not happy to see the section about weaning from the bottle or breast included in this month's newsletter. While I agree with beginning to wean from a bottle to a cup, I cannot agree with telling parents it is time to begin thinking about weaning from the breast. The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until AT LEAST 2 years of age because toddlers continue to receive benefits from their mothers' breast milk far beyond age 1. Many studies actually say that the natural age of weaning could be anywhere between 4 and 6 years of age. While I feel it is acceptable to discuss something that parents may thinking about doing, please be mindful of your language and include some information about breastfeeding through toddler-hood. Thanks!

I have read where aluminum covering was a permanent solution for carpenter bees, What if the aluminum is applied over the winter months? What will the carpenter bees then do after hibernation?

my wife and I just bought a small 6 acre farm. we have horses. the pasture is a mix of Timothy, Orchard, clover and Alfalfa. our mare is allergic to alfalfa. so my question is once I spray it with weedmaster (2,4d & Dacumba)to kill the alfalfa, once it dies it doesn't just disappear. so will the dead plants not cause any allergic reaction for her since there will be no nutritional value left in the plant? or will I have to kill it and disc it up to totally get away from it?

I purchased a Honeycrisp apple tree and a cherry tree from an online catalog company from the south. The trees I planted this spring hardly have an leaves and lots of buds left on the tree. I scraped the branches and they are still green and so are the buds so the tree is alive. Could this be due to the mild winter and the trees coming from the south not meeting its chill requirement? If so will the tree grow next season?
In the 2001-2002 a drainage project was completed on the Yocom farm.I own a small 32 acre parcel adjacent to the area involved.Since the implementation of this project my spring fed pond has become smaller. The pond has been there since before 1970 when the property was purchased by my father.I would like to know if I could have this evaluated as well as consultation on enlarging the pond to absorb another spring fed wetland nearby.Thank you Brenda Ober firstname.lastname@example.org
