Urine to add nitrogen to fresh sawdust mulch

I have access to tons of fresh pine saw flakes or rather small shavings—a bit coarser than sawdust but much finer than wood chips — and I also use a small porta- potty at night so I have lots of urine available. If I empty my pot on a pile of fresh saw flakes for say six months will it speed up the decomposition of the saw flakes and make them usable for mulching blueberries without fear of their drawing nitrogen out of the soil? I live in the country so no one should object. Thanks, Faith
PS: Approximately how long do you have to save sawdust/flakes before they and safely be used for mulch and not draw nitrogen out of the soil?

Oak tree disease?

I was birdwatching in my backyard and noticed my oak tree has this odd-shaped hole with what appears to be maybe some drainage on the bark. I only see it on one limb of the tree so I’m hoping it’s not something fatal to it since it’s a huge old tree. I can’t quite find any other images quite the same online and I’m not sure how long it’s been there.

Chickens with throats cut open

This morning I found 4 of my chickens dead, with their throats cut open. The remaining 5 were unharmed. The dead chickens were uneaten in any other way. What kind of animal might have done this? I live in a primarily wooded areas, and we do have fischers and weasels, but I can't imagine any of them would do this without eating something. Can you help explain?

Correcting over fertilization of young plants

Yesterday, I planted tomatoes, eggplants and squash. Since I could not purchase dehydrated chicken manure, I added some 10 10 10 fertilizer to each hole before lowering the plants into the hole. I then watered them. Today, the leaves are turning white and showing signs of extreme distress.

If there anything I can do to try to save the plants? Would digging them up and rinsing the roots help, or is it too late?

Juglone-tolerant vinifera?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone in your group knows if vinifera grape varieties, specifically Sangiovese vines, might be juglone tolerant. I have a large black walnut tree in my back yard and want to plant Sangiovese vines just past the drip line. I was going to grow them in raised, open bottom planters with organic/composted soil, but knowing that the roots will eventually reach the ground level makes me worried that in a few years they may all die off.

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Bob P

Acer Sango Kaku disease

Hi - I am wondering what is wrong with this tree. I had it planted in the Fall of 2016 and all was going well until this spring (2019). The red bark is no longer red and it looks unhealthy overall. It gets good sun - some direct and some filtered. It has been watered it well. I live in the Albany NY area, Zone 4/5. At first I thought it could be winter damage, but the discolored bark makes me think its a fungus. Could it be verticillium wilt? I know nothing about this fungus, but I saw some photos that look similar. If it is verticillium wilt, is really untreatable? I just added some photos of the cross-section of the branches that I cut off. I don’t see the rings that you’re supposed to see with wealth.
