Lost and need help

I have a plant that bloomed for Christmas and did very well. After it finished blooming I cut the stems off when they died, and it wasn't long after that that new stems started growing..up to 32 inch's tall. I wanted to see where it was gonna go. Do I cut these long stems off or will they die on their own? Will it bloom again at all? My name is Frank..can you help me?

Eliminating the damage done by the Pinyon "Pitch Mass" Borer

I am an 81 year young person who lives at 7250' altitude in the mountains west and south of Edgewood, NM at 41 Ogaz Loop Dr., Edgewood, NM 87015. I have been quite proud of the beautiful 40-50 foot tall pinon trees. They are slowly being decimated by the borer. I have been told that if I were to spray the trunks of the trees with Safari (Dinotefuran) chemical it will gradually kill the borers. Can you enlighten a New Mexican on what I might do and when to do it.

Last year we were decimated with the Tiger moth caterpillars and I contacted Dr. Carol Sutherland, Extension Entomologist, NMSU & State Entomologist, NM Dept. Agriculture about the moth and the pupation stages. She was a big help and kind enough to indulge my nonsense.

Could you also send me the site to look at the pupation stages of the borer. That not being my field of education I have had no luck to see the various pupation stages I might visit on the Internet. I am wondering if the decimation this year with a black caterpillar which I am wondering is part of the borer life stage.

In advance, thanks so much for advising me.

Plant problem

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this plant. I moved into a new house and this plant was there (I don't know what type of plant it is) and something is wrong with the leaves. Some of the leaves are turning light yellow and getting what look like brown burn marks on them.

Unknown predatory mite

I believe I have discovered an unknown predatory mite. How can I verify that this species is indeed undescribed? The first included micrograph shows an individual on the point of a needle. The second micrograph shows the mites feeding on a beetle pupa test subject. They are completely engorged and continue to feed until the prey has been completely drained of all internal fluids.

grubs, vegetables, bees, insecticides

Hello,
I have several vegetable gardens and I have found grubs ~ hundreds in a 2x2 area in an area very close to my gardens.
I also have Bees, 2 hives.

I need to kill the grubs.... digging them all up in that area is doable, but a formidable task.
I want to use something in all my gardens areas (multiple) that surround the grub area.
Thought for a moment about Sevin, but it's bad for my bees....
Also have chickens and rabbits that eat the foliage, but I can deter that problem if necessary.

I am at a loss here.
