Pole Beans

I have 6 rows of pole beans on 6' cattle fence. In past years the runners make a canopy over the top of the fencing. This makes it hard to find the beans and pick. They are just starting to do this; can I cut the runners or will that damage the crop and production of beans?

Thornless Blackberry

I'm wondering if the vines that that planted themselves into the ground become another plant/bush ? If so, should I snip it off this fall or spring ? Or should I just prune back all the long vines that have grown this fall or early spring, if they don't propagate that way. I will cover them considerably ( due to your previous recommendation). Thank you again Susan

I have a Mountain Ash that has been showing more dead branches each year, the last three years. It is about 26 years old. Is it age, or could it be Ash borer? It is full of small woodpecker holes. ( the holes, not the woodpeckers). Thank you, for your time.

I have what I guess is a young cottonwood tree growing on my property. I was wondering if you could confirm that it is cottonwood and also tell me what the black growths are at the end of the branches (See Photo)? The black growths are hard and break apart. I read that there are male and female trees and only the females produce the cotton. How do you tell them apart?

Pruning large lower branches off a Maple Tree

When is the best time to remove large lower branches on a Maple Tree? The branches are approximately 6-8 inches across. I think it is a Sugar Maple. I would like to remove all of the large lower branches on this tree if possible. See Pictures
