cross pollination of corn

Hello, I am wanting to plant sweet corn and maybe popcorn this year, but I live next to farms of field corn. Is there anyway or anything I can do with my corn to keep it from being cross pollinated by the field corn or by each other?

Red rosier dogwood?

I have about 20-30 red rosier dogged plants that were planted as bare root 18-24inches tall about 2 years ago ON A SLOPED HILLSIDE. THEY ARE PLANTED IN A AREA OF THE HILL THAT IS SUNKEN OR ERODED PART OF HILLSIDE. THIS SPRING I PLAN A IS EITHER DIGING EACH BUSH OUT AND FILLING THE ERODED AREA IN WITH DIRT AND PLANT THE 20-30 BUSHES BACK. OR PLAN B IS TO JUST FILL DIRT RIGHT OVER THE BUSHES KEEPING THEM UPRIGHT SO ABOUT 6 INCHES OF BUSH IS STILL ABOVE GROUND HOPING THEY WILL ROOT OUT AND GROW A BUSH ABOVE THE NEW SOIL LEVEL. WILL PLAN B WORK? THANKS CASEY

We would like someone to look at our oak trees to make sure we don't have oak wilt. We have one tree that has died. We now have some oak trees in our front yard that look sick. They have fluffy things hanging on the branches/leaves.

Transplanting Dutchman's Breeches

Hi! Every Spring I admire Dutchman's Breeches and every year I think "I should transplant some" and never do. When is the best time? I'm thinking whenever it pops up, since it is so short-lived. I also would like to plant bellwort. I have a great area shaded by oak and cottonwood....a retaining wall area that seems pretty richly composted. Thanks! Ann Ogg Albert Lea, MN

sunflower seed shells toxic to plants?

Due to the hard winter I fed over 200 pounds of black oil sunflower seeds to the birds & the shells are very deep below the feeders. The ground is bare because the area was tilled last fall in preparation for dwarf fruit trees & a few wild flowers to be planted this spring. Can the shells be tilled in or should they be removed?

1918

I live in Freeborn County in a house that was built in 1918, what plants and bushes were being used at that time. If possible I would love to replicate the look of that time. Thank you
