Arborvitae Trees

I noticed this not in the gardening section....please disregard this questions. Sorry for the mix up

Hello, I planted a few arborvitae trees last year and was looking at them in some detail today and noticed the tips looked a little different. I was wondering if this is normal during new growth or if something is going on that I'm not aware of. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Mice problem

We have a summer home near Traverse City but do not spend much time there in other parts of the year. We just discovered dead mice in the basement. They had apparently eaten the D-con poison but instead of going outside to die, they just found a place in the basement. Since we are not in the dwelling much until May, what solution is there?

Please let me know because when I observed what I sent , they didnt seem to show. is there a paperclip that I need to go to here in order for you to get them?

Thank you,
