Fresh water clams

Is there a safe way to introduce fresh water clams or mussels to a small pond on my farm. no fish in the pond, turtles and frogs. Just want to clear the water. Pond is about 60ft by 40ft. shallow, maybe 4ft deep at best. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you. Dave Edwards .

Family and Consumer Science Agent

Hello, Your letterhead does not mention a Family and Consumer Science Agent in Warren county. As one of the largest counties in the state, I am wondering why that is the case? When do you expect to fully staff your Warren County Cooperative Extension Service? I was recently sent a letter asking for support for a capital campaign for a new building in Warren County. I would rather my dollars go toward supporting a cooperative extension service that supports EVERY branch of the cooperative extension service. Our community needs and deserves the support and expertise of a Family and Consumer Science Agent as well as the current Agriculture, Horticulture, 4-H Youth Development, & (SNAP program educators). Is there a plan to fill this position soon? Please explain. Thank you! Leisa Hutchison

Need help with a new garden

I'd like to put in a decorative garden, butter I'm overwhelmed. i have a raised be that it 14X5 feet. It gets full morning sun and shade after about 3pm. I know I want perennials that requires little daily care. By the then I get lost. What do I plant? WHEN do I plant? I've wanted to put in a garden for years now and each year I get frustrated and just let it go to weeds... I don't know that I'd like it taller in the back with purple coneflower and maybe Russian sage. But I don't know what to plant in front that is lower and hardy. If I could have suggestions with specific names Andrew time a to plant that would help so much!

What is the difference between a rick, a face rick, and a cord of wood, and what is a fair cost for selling those?

Fruit trees

Went to a seminar in Hart County last month and they were talking about planting local fruit trees. Where do you find the trees in this area?

Groundcover to Replace Grass Between Street & Sidewalk

I'm looking for a ground cover to replace the grass between the sidewalk and the street at my home in Bowling Green. It's a townhouse on a corner lot. The side gets full sun most of the day and the front gets a lot of shade. The side is about 110' by 6' with three red maples & the front is about 40' by 6' with one oak that has long narrow leaves. The front slopes toward the street with about a 2' drop from the sidewalk to the street. I can't grow tall fescue without a lot of irrigation. The mowing company hired by the HOA blames the trees on robbing the grass of all the water. I'm looking for a ground cover that would look nice year round, not need irrigation and would require very little maintenance. Maybe occasional mowing. It would need to be able to withstand a very small amount of foot traffic. I've seen in other areas of the country where a native grass would meet most of this criteria. Is there anything that would meet those criteria for our part of the country in Bowling Green, Kentucky?

Dogwood dying?

Is my dogwood dying? It has been healthy. I recently cut down a large cedar tree that was growing next to it but I left the stump as to not disturb the dogwood roots.
I also have two bradford pear trees that's leaves are browning and falling off.
Could this be related? What is the cause? Can I do anything about it?
