Tick nest

Is there such a thing as a tick nest? What I have been shown looks like a cluster of ripe blackberries about the size of a soft ball.

soil fertilizer

Can you tell me what ratio I need to fertilize my lawn in by handheld seeder? Would it be set on 2 or 3? What fertilizer do I need to buy? Is 15-15-15 okay? I live in Marshall county if that helps the with soil type. Also, can I do this the same time I spread my grass seed?

Oh deer

Do you have any suggestions for deterring deer. We live in Lakeside Park and have a small 20X40 ft garden. Also do you do soil testing. We haven't been too pleased with results and yield. Thnks Mary Beth Woods

Kentucky Cottage Food Program

I am considering making jams and jellies from home. I'm not sure where to start. I understand that as a home based processor I would need to go through a licensing/training session. I'm not sure where I would go to do that. I believe I qualify for the Cottage Food Program as I grow my own produce - I have around 300 grapevines. If you can direct me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Tree blight?

At least one of the mature trees in my yard has strange looking spots on it and I am concerned it is sick. It is a lovely tall tree, so I wanted to see if it can be treated. I'm attaching a photo of what the leaves look like. Is there anything I can do for it? Thank you!!

Red Maple

Last year the Red Maple that I planted two years ago as a bare root tree was used as a deer rub, I noticed the bark on one side of the tree was completely gone so I spray painted it with pruning paint, now the tree looks like it's in its fall stage colors, I realize the tree is stressed but with all that bark missing is the tree salvageable or should I look into replacing it. The trunk of the tree is probably an inch in diameter with half of the bark missing.
