I'm developing some programming on food preservation in our area and I'd like to facilitate a workshop on planning a home garden with food preservation in mind. Are any extension programs out there working on something similar to this? Are there any resources or research I can look into?

Which state Extension services support a team of staff positions with titles like "local food coordinator" or "local food specialist" or "regional food systems specialist"? We are interested in states that have multiple local food coordinators working in different regions of the state. We would like to know how Extension services (or other sponsors such as nonprofits) provide professional development and training for such positions.

Is there software or common technology solutions used by county extension offices, soil and water conservation districts, or other organizations that partner with many farmers to track the activities of those farmers? For example, software that would track basic information about the farm, along with any funds they have been awarded for projects, technical assistance they have requested, and other information that would help track the development of farms and agricultural initiatives over time?
Ideally this would be something that multiple employees at an organization could access and update.
The sugar in corn is being used to make alcohol for fuel. Wouldn't it make more sense to use sugar beets or sorghum for this?

What Local Officials Need to Know about GAPs?
How can I get my apples into local school lunch rooms?
How can I connect with schools, hospitals or businesses to sell locally grown foods in my area? Thanks!
I work with a group of Ohio growers who are interested in connecting to local schools and/or hospitals to sell their produce through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) arrangement. Are their Ohio-based resources to help these growers with any farm-to-institution models or networks?
