Hello. My name is Philip Van Hoevenberg, and I'm a writer researching a project. I'm trying to find someone knowledgeable about the geology of a very specific area of Pike County, Ohio: the Scioto River Valley, including the Route 335/Higby Rd. plateau, the unglaciated hills of the Allegheny Plateau directly opposite this plateau, and the site of the town of Waverly. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

bird in potato

I baked a potato yesterday and when I cut it in half it looks like a baby bird in the one half. I am wondering if this should be reported. I called the Philadelphia Health Department but they were not interested. They said to call the store and then the manufacturer of the potato. What do you think?

Tree topping

I have a mulberry tree that I topped 5-6 years ago and it has since grown 15 feet higher. I am planning on topping it again this weekend. Should I cut the 15 foot growth back to the original stump or cut the stump shorter as well? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Education for Arbor Day

This is Dan Dellinger from Red Lion Junior High. I am looking to see if any local organizations would be willing to present information to 7th and 8th graders concerning anything to do with Arbor Day. The date would be April 25th and the time commitment may vary, but would not exceed 2hours. If you have anyone that would be willing to present in any fashion or have any suggestions concerning who else to contact please let me know. Thank you for your time and consideration.

squash bugs

Good morning! I am a Community Garden Leader at the Bradley Garden on Denver. Last season we had an infestation of squash bugs throughout the garden. Is there anything we need to do this year to prevent a recurrence? Should we not plant any squash, or are there other preventative measures we can use? We are an organic garden.
