Grafting onto Mexican Plum

I was thinking about grafting some cultivated varieties of Prunus onto a Mexican Plum rootstock (Prunus Mexicana). I wanted to know if there were any graft incompatibilities I should know of first.

Spreading crown on columnar oak (quercus robur fastigiata)

I have several columnar oaks which I planted at about the same time. One has grown more rapidly than the others and its crown is spreading (hanging) in an unsightly manner as per the photo. It has a bifurcated trunk at the 4' level. A year ago I tied a loose rope around it at about the 9' level to keep it from spreading more. The tree is now approximately 20 feet tall.

How do I keep the crown from spreading? Can I have a tree service come strap or tie the crown into a tighter column?

Giant White Bird Of Paradise Rusty Colored Foliage

Can you please help identify why the leaves are taking in this rusty color. My research is ineffective as there are no raised rusty nodules indicating rust. It's is a very disease resistant plant so I'm at a loss as I don't want lose the plant or perhaps have an entire yard effected by a disease should that be the case. Could it be an iron/soil issue?

Help with ivy

I have this ivy growing on my bank. I think it is English ivy. It is extending from part of the county's property and is now threatening a few tree of mine. How can I get rid of it and can Henrico County public works also help? The ivy is beginning to cover one of the county's trees. Any information about how to get rid of this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pastures or Hay Fields Treated with 2,4-D

I have been told that when pastures or hay fields have been treated with 2,4-D, the chemical can be passed through to the manure produced by horses eating from the pastures or hay fields, and kill vegetables and so on, when used as a soil amendment. Is this correct, and if so, is there a composting time that can prevent this damage?
