I had two apple trees die this spring and I cut them down. The roots however continue to spring up sprouts. Should I let some of them grow to maturity or should I dig out the trunks and roots completely? If I do let them grow, will they turn out to be healthy trees?

We bought an old house in Aransas Pass that had 3 pecan trees. Two have died and one is on its last leg. The leave are light green, branches not full, neighborhood squirrels are stripped it from nuts. What is the best plan of attached to save this tree? We also have three wonderful very old oak trees that have survived hurricanes and one seems to be losing bark. It may be ants. Can you suggest help?
We have an ornamental small tree that we were told is a "May" tree, and has beautiful white blossoms in the spring. It has developed big growths on a number of the branches. The growths are brown, hard and lumpy, and are usually about 6-10 inches, and encircle the branch. Most of the branches with this look OK, but now one of them is dying, the one with the biggest growth. Should we be cutting these branches off the tree? Is now a good time to do that?

A few days ago you identified a yellow flower growing wild in my meadow as ox-eye sunflower. There is also another yellow flower growing wild along side the road in my community but it is different than the ox-eye. The flowers are slightly smaller (about 1 .5 across whereas the ox-eyes are 2.5), the yellow is a little darker, the leaves are also toothed but slightly thinner and it has a woody stem. What would this one be called? Thanks!
I have a "redbirds in a tree" plant that is growing for its third summer. Do I need to deadhead or trim the plant? So far I have done nothing to it and it just grows and grows and blooms and blooms, but would cutting it back in the fall be good for it?
My husband wants to pull our hibiscus tree near the house because he said the roots will grow into our foundation. Is that true and should we remove them from up against the house.

I make my own dog biscuits at home. I would like to add commercially processed beef broth to them to add more nutrition. Can I do that and still dry-store them without refrigeration after baking them to a state of dry crispness, or will the beef broth cause them to go bad without refrigeration? Thanks
I bought 9 sweet and 2 tart cherry trees this summer and was told by my nursery to wait until fall to plant them. But a neighbor who is a cherry farmer says it is too late to plant and I will lose the trees if it is a hard winter.
If that is true, can I store them in my basement over winter and plant them next April? If I do that, what should I do besides watering them?,
Can I plant cherry trees (Old Mission Peninsula, Traverse City) in the fall?
What is this insect that is all over my Jerusalem Artichoke? It does not appear to be eating the plant.
I have a pecan tree that has yellow aphids and is producing alot of stick dew. Is it to late to treat for the aphids in September or should I wait and use dormant oil in the winter? I don't want to spend the money to have the trees treated if the problem is about to go away.

I just got a couple of pigs for my hobby farm last week. I have seen conflicting information on feeding pigs table scraps. Are there laws pertaining to feeding pigs table scraps and if so can you sum them up for me? Thanks, Josh

I saw one Tuesday, Sept 9, 2014 in North Ogden, Utah. When I looked it up, the information said they were east of the Rockies. Is this a problem, like invasive species? I took a picture.
We have a dwarf weeping pussy willow tree, about 3 years old, that we found lying over on our glider on Sept. 2. We had some wind the night before, but nothing severe. It didn't seem to break the base of the trunk, even under the soil line, so we put it back up, staked it, and it appears to be doing fine, just still unstable. We planted it according to the instructions that came with the tree. It is about 5 ft from the back of the house. It never really felt stable in the ground, so after the first year, we staked it to help keep it upright until the roots had a chance to grow. Any ideas on how to get it to root better?
Hi! I was at the lake yesterday, in Madison, and spotted this bird sitting on the rocks. It was a large bird and stayed in this position, just moving its head. I have been searching all morning and can't figure out what it is. I am hoping that you can help. Sincerely, Heather Staffiera
I would love some advice on what to plant on my berm. It's right outside our living room windows, and I would love a splash of color and most importantly, some tall plants that will block the "hole" in our berm for privacy from the parkway. I bought 6 black-eyed Susans last week and would like to incorporate them. The photo is taken facing west. Because there are evergreens growing in the area, I would believe the soil is acidic. Also, it is clay. Shade to part shade plants I think would do best. Could you give me some ideas? I don't need to keep the hostas, but I can. Please see attached photos.
Our hedges are turning brown and dying. Is there a solution for this?
We have a client that is on Social Security Disability and has found out she has bed bugs. She is looking for an agency that could assist her with the physical part of getting ready to have someone get rid of them and hopefully financial assistance as well in Barry county or surrounding counties, or State agencies?. Any suggestions?
