This dogwood is not thriving. The top of the leaves look OK but on the underside leaves, half of the leaf, divided down the center, look pinkish red and have brown spots on them. The tips of the leaves are all brown dead and curled. I spotted a leaf that appeared unaffected on the underside, but then I found these eggs on the top. Can you tell me what is wrong with my dogwood tree and what can I do to help it?
I live in Evansville. Some of my Black Eyed Susan plants and Purple Coneflower have been afflicted by what appears to be Yellow Asters disease. It is my understanding this is caused by a bacteria that is carried by a particular leaf hopper. I am pulling and disposing of the diseased plants. Are you seeing much of this in Vanderburgh Co.? Will this be an ongoing problem? Any info appreciated.
I am sending pics of tree limbs of our Japanese Maple Tree that only half leafed out this year.
It seems to be losing more leaves every day. Should we call in an arborist? Should we prune
the tree? I have scratched the tree limb only to find no signs of greening. The living part of the
tree keeps sprouting small bunches of leaves along one of the main limbs.
Thanks for your assistance to this point. In my area, have not found the 5-10-10 you recommended. What else would you suggest? I do have a Osmocote 14-14-14 on hand. I live in Logan County, Colorado.

My previously healthy zucchini plants were devastated by squash vine borers a few weeks ago. I was growing them in a container, and plan to get rid of all the dirt so the eggs will not be present next year. I would like to cover the plants with gardening cloth next year to prevent another infestation. But I know the plants have to be uncovered at times so the bees can fertilize the plants. Do you have any advice on how to manage the plant covers so the bees can access them at the same time but also protect the plants as much as possible?
Hi, I have a 2 year old toad lilys that are showing leaves that look like spotted burning. The plants get afternoon sun and partial shade. The browning of leave start in July to present. The soil drains well. No pesticide used. Can you tell me what is going on? Many thanks, Curtis

I was wondering if there is some sort of disease or insect infestation that may be killing Magnolia trees in Houston? I had a tree die over the period of about 6 months. I thought it was caused by insufficient light (a neighbor's tree had grown over it). I had it cut down and the inside core looks to be rotted. I was driving in the neighborhood and noticed another Magnolia tree that was already dead and others that were not in a healthy form. However others seem just fine. My tree is gone but thought others may have this problem and I couldn't find anything on the internet in a brief search.

I had some workers from the power co out killing weeds that had grown around the power lines. They told me that they used a weed killer that will last 3 years. Do you have any idea what this weed killer is and where I can buy some of it?
I found this caterpillar on my pepper plant. I think it a Polyphemus moth caterpillar. It looks like a photo I found online. But what are the white (eggs)??? A parasite maybe, but what? I think they are parasitic wasps. This little guy does not seem happy. Is there a way to help it? Or is it too late?
What causes Vinca to wilt?
I'm interested in growing simulated wild ginseng on my 7 acres of forest land on the east-facing slope of the Coburg mountains near Marcola, Oregon. What info does OSU have for a newby starting a small (1000-2000 Sq Ft)ginseng farm?
The closest hornworm identification I could find is tomato hornworm. Is that what this is? Should it be destroyed or is there not some value to the moth? Would it be the pollinating hummingbird moth or something else. Thanks for anything you can tell me and advise concerning this find in my rock garden!
I am a native Oregonian and as a young boy, picked strawberries for a farmer just short of the totem pole north of Salem in a field that now is a RV/mobile home park. Their strawberries were so large that I could not hold more than 1 and they tasted great. I am in a small island country putting in an Aquaponics system here. For the most part, they have never seen a strawberry and I would like to grow the largest (NOT a small size that you get from most seeds--period), sweetest and succulent berry seed available. The local Environmentalist are death to any plants coming into this country as well as I cannot afford ANY pathogens getting into our system either. We're located where the International Date Line crosses the Equator in the VERY poor county of Kiribati. What type can you suggest and where can I purchase 1,000 seeds of them?
