Are chinese mystery snails edible?

Are Chinese mystery snails edible? I would catch and keep them in a fish tank for a few days to clean them. Then steam the snails, pull them from shells, then cook the snails in a butter and wine sauce. There are a lot of them in a lake/river near my house. Since they are an invasive species, is it ok to just take them?

Zoysiagrass Recommendations

I am planning on sodding an area of my lawn that is about 50% full sun and 50% partial shade. Zoysiagrass seems to be an attractive candidate for this residential application considering its drought and heat tolerance that is necessary in Midland, TX. Other than information on leaf size and maintenance, I have found it difficult to determine which variety is best suited. Empire and Emerald seem to be the most common in this category. Also, I'm not completely sure that either variety of Zoysia is more advantageous than Celebration Bermuda. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We are planning on making a vegetable garden in our backyard. The area is grass now and we are wondering what is the best way to remove it? We have heard of using roundup but I'd rather not use chemicals! I'm thinking of sod stripping it but what would I do with THAT sod stuff? We live in Bloomington. Have any ideas on anyways of removing and getting rid of this grass?

My wife and I purchased a home in Como Park area of St. Paul late last summer and the lot needs a bit of a landscape makeover (it was a foreclosure). Do you provide any type of residential consultation service? If not, can you provide any recommendations/referrals? We were hoping someone could look at our lot and give us recommendations for plants/trees/shrubs (preferalbly native) that would fit both our vision for & the physical limitations of the space in the yard. Thanks for your response.

I'm trying to find a cherry three that has pink blossoms, grows quickly and a height of around 20'-30'. I live in Castle Rock, South of Denver and I'm having trouble figuring out what would be best for us. DO you have any suggestions?

We have had early and late blight problems on our tomatoes and zucchini. If we cover the ground with black plastic on the ground before we plant this spring, will it be enough to kill the blight that might remain in the soil? We would remove it then before we actually plant and then surround the plants with straw and newspaper. OR If we disposed of all those plants at the end of last year, would it have been enough to kill the blight?

Planting CO native plants

I am interested in starting to plant native plants in my yard - at the corners at first and them perhaps replacing lawn with more natives over time. Can you suggest a few books that I might buy or some websites so I can become knowledgable about that. I also have a very sunny deck and am thinking of doing some container gardening of edibles this summer. A book for that as well.
