I need help identifying this plant. It grows in part to full shade and propagates by underground runners, in a dense thicket. In moderate shade, individual stalks grow about 3 feet tall. Leaves are elongated, slightly longer than an average human's hand.

I need help identifying this plant. This is a common low-growing weed (?) in our backyard. It grows on the lawn and in garden beds. Prefers partial sun to partial shade, shallow roots (no runners that I can see), and easy to pull up by hand. Often grows in clumps. Grows up to 1.5 feet tall. Leaves are elongated and dark green, 1.5-2 inches long. Flowers are a striking pink-purple, with most blooms in late September to mid-October.

Acorns

Is there any place I could take the thousands of acorns in my tree/yard so they'd be useful? I am just collecting and putting out with the yard trash currently and would like to do something else if there is such a thing. Certain other grounds with large squirrel population? A place that would like them to start growing trees? I don't know, but the trash just seems such a waste. Thanks for any suggestions!

I have several rabbits in my yard I think two are cottontails and one seems a larger rabbit type. I have bought straw to put out for shelter for them near the food I provide for them. How should I use the straw? Would a heat pad or dog house like structure be better? I know I need it to open on both ends. Are rabbit houses available?
