I have a small pond on my property, about 10' x 5'. It is inhabited by salamanders and frogs. It also has mosquitoes which are a nuisance. Deer may drink the water and we have horses on the property. What can I put in the water to eliminate the mosquitoes that is not a detriment to the environment? Any kind of fish? Thanks for your help. Patricia Collins

I was wondering what would be good varieties of Apricots and Hazelnuts to grow on the upper end of China Hollow Rd in Wasco. If any that is. Wife and I have about an acre for each. Seeing if it is feasable. Looking for the Hazelnuts to be finnish forage for pigs. Apricots because we love them and think we might could sell at Farmers Markets in the Gorge. Wouldn't mind peaches, but understand the need to limit focus with our little bit of land. Thanx in advance.
What can you tell me about growing "hasta" under Pine trees? Some of mine come back and some do not make it from year to year, especially the divided ones. Is it a result of the acidic soil??? Any suggestions before I give up on that location?
I would like to lease my property for Farm/Crop lease rights. My concerns are mainly around the chemicals used and boundaries surrounding its intended usage. Does the extension provide a simple contract I could use? Any help is appreciated.

Should I continue to feed the sparrows, finches, titmice and chickadees that have been coming to my feeder through the winter? I live in western Pennsylvania. They are consuming less at my feeder now that the weather has warmed up and I understand why that is. I put out oiler seeds and suet.
Thanks, David Wachter
